Critical Threats Opportunities
INTERNSHIPS
The Critical Threats Project seeks part- or full-time interns to support its mission of tracking and analyzing key and emerging national security threats to the United States in order to inform the policy debate. Directed by AEI resident scholar Frederick W. Kagan, the project primarily focuses on the threats posed by Iran and al Qaeda and associated movements in Pakistan and the Gulf of Aden.
Interns form a key part of a flexible, mission-oriented, and self-motivated team that researches, tracks and analyzes national security challenges. The primary responsibility of this position will be providing background research, daily tracking of ongoing developments, and other assistance to Critical Threats staff in the creation of maps, data products, and written articles for www.criticalthreats.org and www.irantracker.org.
Candidates should be able to work well without supervision when required, write well, follow citation and style rules diligently, and meet short-term deadlines while managing longer-term research projects.
Reading proficiency in Arabic, French, Persian, Urdu, Pashto, or Somali is desired but not required.

Volunteer Contributors
Seeking volunteer contributors for Frederick Kagan's Critical Threats Project. The Critical Threats Project is dedicated to tracking and analyzing key and emerging national security threats to the United States in order to inform the policy debate. The project primarily focuses on the threats posed by Iran and al Qaeda and associated movements in Pakistan and the Gulf of Aden. Primary responsibilities of volunteer contributors will be to provide background research, track ongoing developments, and assist Frederick Kagan's staff in the creation of maps, data products, and written articles for www.criticalthreats.org and www.irantracker.org. Reading proficiency in Arabic, French, Persian, Urdu, Pashto, or Somali is desired but not required. Applicants need not reside in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
