Australia, Iran Shipments

description

Defense Minister John Faulkner said that Australia blocked three shipments to Iran concerned they could be used in Iran's nuclear program.  One shipment included pumps that could be used to cool a nuclear reactor.  The unnamed Australian companies were threated with a prohibition order on their sales to Iran, but decided to cooperate voluntarily.

Australian trade with Iran reached $600 million in 2009.
