Chinese Consortium in South Pars Phase 12 LNG Partnership
description
A Chinese Consortium is now working with Iranian Pars LNG to produce LNG from Iran's South Pars field. Work will begin in 2012; sources indicate an unknown European firm will also join the consortium. The project seeks to increase Iran's natural gas production by 10.5 million tons annually. Sinopec and NIGEC are also in talks concerning an LNG plant for phases 13 and 14 of the South Pars field.
