Dana Gas, Iran Gas Imports

Dana Gas has announced that long-delayed Iranian gas imports may commence soon. The 25 year, $1 billion contract was held up by gas pricing disputes and technical and construction difficulties on the Iranian side. The National Iranian Oil Company indicated that it was ready to begin testing delivery. Dana Gas is 21 percent owned by Crescent Petroleum, which has contracted to bring Iran's gas to the U.A.E. Dana Gas on the other hand will sell the gas locally. Iran has said that the gas will come from the Salman gas field. Iran hopes to begin production of 540 million cubic feet per day from the Salman field by February 11, 2010.
