Hamburg Port Consultancy (HPC)-Iran Business

description

After lobbying from the Israeli government, the German consulting and logistics company, Hamburg Port Consultancy (HPC) cancelled its contract to upgrade the Shahid Rajaie complex, part of the port of Bandar Abbas.  Bandar Abbas handles 90 percent of container throughput coming into Iran and while maritime trade has increased, the port's facilities have remained stagnant.  HPC signed a contract with the operator of Bandar Abbas, Tidewater Company, in early January 2010.
