description
The Islamic Republic of Iran Railways (IRIR) has contracted with an unnamed Russian company for the delivery of some 60,000 tons of rails. IRIR uses 100,000 tons of steel each year in expanding and maintaining rails across the country. The Russian company has also reportedly agreed to aid Iran in domestically producing railway grade steel.
