Kuwait-Iran, Discuss Linking Infrastructure
description
During the recent meeting between Kuwaiti and Iranian economic officials held in Kuwait (January 22-24), Kuwait and Iran discussed linking their natural gas pipeline infrastructure. Kuwait has expressed interest in the idea, which would give Kuwait ready access to Iranian supplies via an undersea pipeline to Khuzestan's gas grid. In November, both sides discussed Iranian exports to Kuwait from the South Pars gas field. Payvand reported that Kuwaiti Oil Minister Sheikh Ahmad al-Abdullah al-Sabah showed interest in importing 3-4 billion cubic meters a year.
