Russia’s Gazprom, Qatar Liquefied Gas Company Ltd and NIOC will create a consortium to develop South Pars and refine it at Qatar's Ras Laffan. Each firm will control a 30% interest, and the remaining 10% will likely be controled by China's CNPC or Korea's Kogas. Present plans are to set up the gas production infrastructure in South Pars, lay pipeline via the bottom of the Persian Gulf to Qatar, and finally to construct a liquefied gas plant in Ras Laffan.
