description

According to the director of the National Iranian Gas Export Company (NIGEC), Sinopec may take a 20 percent stake in the development of the liquefied natural gas (LNG) project at phases 13 and 14 of the South Pars gas field, the world's largest. The project also involves the construction of LNG trains with a combined capacity of 8.1 million tons annually. The LNG plant is expected to reach completion in 2012; with a 20 percent share of the $10 billion project, Sinopec would control a roughly $2 billion stake in the project.
