Co-owned by Uganda’s National Enterprise Corporation and the Iran Tractor Machinery Company, which supplies the parts, UGIRAN intends to employ 2,000 people, develop local ancillary tractor industries, supply tractors to the home market (at subsidized rates) as well as abroad, and according to Dabiran, is expected to assemble 800 tractors per year.
