Volvo, Truck Sales

Volvo has bee active in Iran for more than 60 years, mainly selling trucks.  Since the 1970s the company has sold 40,000 units.  In 2000 the company signed a new agreement, aiming to manufacture some 1,500 trucks in Iran a year.  Sales have totalled 4,000 to 5,000 trucks a year.  Volvo also owns a 30 percent stake in the Zamyad factory, located near Tehran.
